Mark Chamberlain is a painter and decorative painter based in the New York metro area. His interests lie in the history of decorative painting from Rome to Art Déco and beyond; in bold, graphic patterns based on historical motifs; in flowers and acanthus taken from Chinoiserie and Neo-Classical decorative painting; and whimsical birds, fish, figures and animals for children.
He draws from a palette of deep, saturated colors and Old World colors used to contemporary advantage, but is just as happy to paint your loft white.
Mark frequently works and collaborates with Brian Gilmartin, painter extraordinaire. Look for a few of his Tree Rooms under the separate heading, often based on Renaissance woodcuts and such.
